    Olivetani Bianco Veneto IGT 2017

A versatile white wine that preserves ancient traditions, born from the selection of white grapes in the Euganean Hills.
A versatile white wine that preserves ancient traditions, born from the selection of white grapes in the Euganean Hills.

The 2017 vintage was droughty with peaks of heat in the summer. In some ways similar to 2015, so we played it early. Given the discrepancy between technological and phenolic ripening, we harvested some of the grapes early to maintain good acidity. Light macerations allowed us not to extract too many green notes. These first fermentations served as a powerful pied de cuve for the grapes harvested later at optimal phenolic maturity: as a result, we obtained wines with great personality, deep, full-bodied, balanced and persistent.

Deep straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, notes of candied citrus, aromatic herbs and a subtle balsamic hint emerge. The palate is fresh, savory and beautifully balanced, with a good persistence that recalls hints of rosemary and ripe fruit. Pleasantly savory.

  • 2.

Pedevenda Manzoni Bianco Veneto IGT 2017

Bright golden yellow. Intense aromas of candied fruit, honey, eucalyptus and white flowers. The palate is smooth, warm and enveloping, with a refined structure and a long aromatic persistence, revealing hints of medicinal herbs and sweet spices.

Brilliant golden yellow. On the nose, notes of sweet flowers, citrus, ripe yellow fruit and herbal hints of sage and helichrysum. The palate is smooth, rich and enveloping, with a perfect balance of freshness and softness, finishing with a long, savory and balsamic aftertaste.

    Rosato Veneto IGT 2019

An elegant, full-bodied rosé from gently pressed selected grapes, reflecting the versatility of the Euganean territory.
An elegant, full-bodied rosé from gently pressed selected grapes, reflecting the versatility of the Euganean territory.

2019 was a memorable vintage for the freshness and depth of the wines obtained. A particularly rainy month of July and an entire summer characterised by cool nights and sporadic thunderstorms allowed us to harvest grapes with great aromatic richness, with acidity that was still lively even when fully ripe. Qualities that are especially appreciable in the white grapes grown at the highest altitude, on Monte Venda.

Rosé with coppery reflections. Sweet aromas of crisp red fruits, followed by hints of dried flowers and leaves, slightly spicy and intense on the nose. On the palate, it is full and savory, with a light tannic structure that adds depth and a pleasantly dry finish.

  • 5.

Sassonero Merlot Colli Euganei DOC 2016

A Merlot with character, matured with care and finesse, expressing the power and elegance of the Euganean Hills.
A Merlot with character, matured with care and finesse, expressing the power and elegance of the Euganean Hills.

The 2016 vintage was one of the most beautiful and balanced of the last decade. The rainy spring slightly thinned out the blossoming grapes and ensured excellent water supply to the growing vines. This was followed by a hot and dry summer with very little precipitation. This allowed us to obtain healthy and concentrated grapes, quite similar to what was seen in 2013. In the same way, both white and red grapes produced extraordinary results.

Intense ruby red. On the nose, aromas of red fruit jam, underbrush, rhubarb, ink and sweet spices stand out. The palate is enveloping and velvety, with mature tannins and great depth of flavor. Long finish, with hints of leather, tobacco and licorice.

  • 6.

Girapoggio Cabernet Colli Euganei DOC 2015

An age-worthy Cabernet that expresses the characteristics of the Euganean terroir, with mineral, tobacco and leather notes.
An age-worthy Cabernet that expresses the characteristics of the Euganean terroir, with mineral, tobacco and leather notes.

The 2015 vintage severely tested the vineyards due to a very hot and dry summer in both Arquà Petrarca and Faedo. Among the difficulties was the discrepancy between grape ripening values: technological ripening (accumulation of sugars) occurred earlier than phenolic ripening (concentration of anthocyanins, tannins, polyphenols). This resulted in an early harvest, which gave the wines herbaceous nuances while maintaining beautiful fruit, more evident tannins and high alcohol content. A few edges, for wines that need a few more years to express themselves at their best.

Dense, impenetrable ruby red. Aromas of underbrush, slightly earthy. Sweet, ripe red fruits, spicy notes, cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, it is structured and enveloping, with striking, well-integrated tannins. Long tasting persistence, revealing balsamic hints and bitter cocoa.

Wines: Author's Proofs

An experimental project consisting of small and unique productions, between 100 and 1,000 bottles, available in our winery while stocks last. Each wine tells a facet of our work: different techniques of vineyard management and winemaking, recovering old native varieties and experiments to tackle the evident and pressing climate change.

The graphic design reflects this experimental approach with unique labels, created using various techniques and inspired by the wine, its history and the vineyard of origin.

    Sparkling white wine PED0118

Vibrant and subtle, it offers immediate freshness with its sparkling and incisive character.
Vibrant and subtle, it offers immediate freshness with its sparkling and incisive character.

An indigenous white grape variety that was widely cultivated in the Faedo Valley during the last century. In the early 2000s, it was "rediscovered" in the Euganean Hills along with other lesser-known native grapes, thanks to a project led by Severina Cancellier (Experimental Institute for Viticulture in Conegliano). Anyway, some old vineyards of this variety still exist today. Due to its acidity, it is well-suited for sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. Slightly aromatic on the nose, it is a late-ripening variety that demonstrates excellent drought resistance—an increasingly valuable trait in these times of significant climate change.

Very pale straw yellow, slightly hazy, with Mediterranean notes of aromatic herbs, floral hints and crisp white fruit. The palate is fresh, slightly tart, clean and dry.

    White wine PIF0122

Energy and savoriness in an essential white wine that surprises with every sip.
Energy and savoriness in an essential white wine that surprises with every sip.

Over the centuries, the Euganean Hills have witnessed alternating cycles of cultivation and abandonment of this white grape variety, until a project to recover ancient varieties was launched in the early 2000s. This is a grape we are working on with an in-depth approach, also with an eye to the future, due to the balance it maintains in the hottest and driest vintages. Its pronounced acidity, late ripening and delicate aromas allow us to produce fresh, light and savory wines even under conditions that are challenging for other varieties. We are experimenting with its cultivation on different soils and microclimates, resulting in diverse expressions. While grapes from higher-altitude vineyards are well-suited for bottle refermentation, in warmer areas and scorching vintages we prefer to produce still white wines. This is precisely the case with PIF0122.

Bright, clear straw yellow. On the nose, notes of aromatic herbs, candied fruit, preserved lemon and sea salt. The palate is savory, citrusy and persistent, inviting another sip.

  • 3.

    White wine MOS0219

An unconventional Moscato, refined and mineral, capable of telling the story of the land.
An unconventional Moscato, refined and mineral, capable of telling the story of the land.

On the slopes of Monte Venda, a small vineyard well-exposed to the winds nurtures old vines on volcanic soil. From it, we have obtained a limited yet distinctive production, the result of an early harvest that favoured acidity and floral, herbal and balsamic aromas over the typical fruity notes. Aged for about a year in large oak casks.

Bright straw yellow with subtle golden reflections. The nose reveals aromatic herbs—sage, marjoram and helichrysum. The finish brings warm notes of stewed fruit, stone and rock dust. On the palate, the sapidity stands out with agility and delicacy, leaving a lingering depth and persistence.

  • 4.

    White wine TOC0221

Structured and enveloping, it combines complexity and drinkability with natural elegance.
Structured and enveloping, it combines complexity and drinkability with natural elegance.

Contributing to the balance of this wine are two vineyards of different ages, both on deep, volcanic soil with ample water supply. In this excellent vintage, the fully ripe grapes have given us a structured white wine with high alcohol content and low acidity. After 11 days of maceration on the skins, a long resting period in oak barrels allowed the wine to find harmony and softness.

Golden yellow, clear and consistent in the glass. Notes of magnolia and calycanthus flowers, ripe yellow fruit, preserved peaches, aromatic herbs and eucalyptus honey, with a spicy and slightly smoky touch. Dry, warm, soft and rich. Soft on the finish, with great persistence.

  • 5.

    White wine TOC0122

Fresh and intriguing, it naturally blends hop flowers with warm summer aromas.
Fresh and intriguing, it naturally blends hop flowers with warm summer aromas.

A completely different result from the same vineyard of TOC0221. The 2022 vintage was extremely dry, leading to significant concentration in the grapes. To preserve freshness and lightness, we chose to harvest early and add a small percentage of a less alcoholic variety. After a short contact with the skins, the wine was aged in steel, resulting in a more sleek and graceful profile on the palate.

Pale yellow with golden reflections, slightly cloudy, fairly consistent in the glass. On the nose, it evokes notes of golden drops, lemon balm, alfalfa, mango, linden flowers and sage. Pleasantly fresh, savory and soft, rich on the palate even after the sip. Persistent.

    Red wine MT0420

Refined and intense, a Merlot that balances power and elegance with precision.
Refined and intense, a Merlot that balances power and elegance with precision.

At Podere Aganoor in Arquà Petrarca, we cultivate Bordeaux grape varieties destined for our most prestigious reserves. By vinifying the different plots separately, even if they come from the same area, we can treat the grapes according to their potential, enhancing the characteristics of each and fostering the final balance. In 2020 we chose to highlight the savory component of the oldest vineyard, avoiding excessive extraction during vinification and opting for a shorter wood aging process. The result is a wine that is enjoyable even in its youth, with a pleasant fruity profile.

Dense and vibrant ruby red. Forest balsamic and fresh resin notes, ripe and crunchy red fruits. Light spicy hints. On the palate, it is juicy and enveloping, with a smooth tannin structure and a long, persistent aftertaste.

    Red wine MN0118

A surprising red, capable of overturning all expectations with its unusual character.
A surprising red, capable of overturning all expectations with its unusual character.

From our lands in Sicily, in 2018 we produced a dry red wine with an unusual character. A portion of the grapes was harvested early, with a sugar concentration that allowed for complete fermentation, fully converting the sugars into alcohol. The result is a surprising and intriguing wine: intensely aromatic, with a high alcohol content and pleasant freshness.

Medium-transparent ruby red, with smoky and fruity notes and hints of red fruits in spirits. Clean, fresh, dry palate with low tannins.
