It is not known if the Glera grapes, called Serprino in the Euganean Hills, has come here first or in the Treviso area, after its probable origin in Istria. What is certain is that it remains a timeless wildcard at the table and on any occasion for its sparkling aroma, embedded in a soft and fresh texture which makes it the most drinkable white wine in our production. Originated from little more than a hectare of vineyard in Faedo, at the foot of Monte Venda.
Serprina (Glera) 100%
In Cinto Euganeo, in the locality Sottovenda. The main plant is from 2003, but there is still a part of the vineyard dating back to the ’60s. The soil is composed of euganean marl mixed with clay, fresh and of medium fertility.
It ferments for about 15 days at low temperatures in stainless steel before being filtered, still sweet, and induced to the secondary fermentation with Charmat Method.
<strong>Service and pairing</strong>
It is a sparkling and light wine, to be consumed young.
To be served cold, around 8-10°C, it is excellent as a summer pre-dinner or with delicate dishes like a spring herb omelette.
