Ca’ Lustra wines and the 2020 vintage

News
04.09.2023

For several months now, we have been immersing ourselves in the fresh and fruity notes of some red wines from this vintage. Now it is the time of the most important white wines: 2019 makes way for 2020. The first white wine to undergo a "vintage change" is the Bianco Olivetani, in the coming months we will see the transition of Moscato Secco 'A Cengia and Manzoni Bianco.

Every time a vintage changes, at least when the wine is not made according to a "recipe," differences can be felt. These differences are partly due to the evolution of the wine over time and partly influenced by the climatic conditions of each year.

So, how was the 2020 vintage for Ca’ Lustra wines?

The 2020 vintage in the Euganean Hills experienced good water supply between spring and early summer, along with moderate temperatures. These characteristics have become rare in recent years. The high grape yield suggested an abundant harvest, only partially diminished by two hailstorms in July.

In general, it was a good vintage that produced solid and balanced wines, also thanks to particularly lively fermentations.

Bianco Olivetani gets a new look

In the year 2020, several wines underwent a transformation: we needed to bring more uniformity to our products. This is also the case for our Bianco Olivetani, for which we opted for a light burgundy bottle instead of the bordeaux one. The label has also changed, now forming our logo along with Rosato and Garganega.
