A casual and carefree glass, with scents of undergrowth and violets, telling peasant stories.

Our Belvedere Marzemino Veneto IGT tells of the conviviality of the Veneto countryside.

The name is a tribute to the Belvedere vineyard, a panoramic hillock of red clay limestone. We are convinced that by nourishing the vines with the sun of the West, with the red and purple tones of the flowers and with the greens of the oak and chestnut woods, we will have a companion with an open word, a wine that declares all its sympathy.

Sensorial analysis

Marzemino is a semi-aromatic grape variety that transfers a typical violet colour to the wine. The nose offers fruity and pulpy scents, with floral violet and lightly spiced nuances. On the palate it is soft, with an agile and well-balanced mouthfeel, and can be appreciated from its young years.

History of Marzemino

Appearing in Italy around the 15th century thanks to the sea trade of the Republic of Venice, Marzemino spread to the Veneto, Trentino and Lombardy regions. This grape gives rise to a wine that smells of red fruits, plums and dried flowers. Endowed with good acidity and lightness, it is often a wine to drink in youth. On the Euganean Hills the cultivation of these grapes is no longer so widespread, but we like to think that its aromatic expressions are as close to our roots as possible. Because of its deep bond with the territory, we have chosen to produce Marzemino Nero. Compared to its relative Marzemina Bastarda, it is a less productive and more delicate grape variety, but one that gives more elegant and long-lived expressions.

Pairings

With its agile and spicy sip, Marzemino goes well with cured meats and mature cheese that enhance the rustic character of this semi-aromatic variety. Also great with meat stews. We recommend serving at 16-18°C.
