A small gesture, a big help: we collect cork closures

Our winery has always believed in sustainability and solidarity. That’s why we collaborate with the association "Locara per la Via di Natale", which has been collecting plastic and cork closures for charitable purposes for years. This association supports "Via di Natale" in Aviano (PN), a facility that offers free accommodation to cancer patients and their families.

Since 2004, "Locara per la Via di Natale" has been collecting plastic caps, sending them to recycling centers. This gives the caps a second life, turning them into products such as flower pots, fruit crates or garden chairs, while also reducing pollution from mixed plastic processing. In recent years, the initiative has expanded to include cork closures. This 100% recyclable natural material can be reused for producing insulation panels, footwear components and even furniture.

The proceeds from these initiatives are donated to "Casa Via di Natale", providing concrete help to those in need. Since 2004, "Locara per la Via di Natale" has raised over €400,000.

Returning to the wine industry, how often do we see cork closures being thrown away at fairs and events? There are various ways, even creative ones, to reuse corks. But if we must dispose of them, why not recycle them properly? We believe it takes little effort. We invite everyone—individuals and industry professionals—to pay attention to this detail: every cork counts! There are many collection centers in cities and towns. We are also available: once you have accumulated some (natural cork and micro-granulated cork, not synthetic), bring them to us and we will gladly act as intermediaries with "Locara per la Via di Natale".
