Ferro Estate

In the Podere Ferro, the soil is marly, very similar to that of Boschetto Estate: a demanding land, complex to cultivate, but capable of yielding wines of great concentration and savoriness. Here, we successfully grow Fior d’Arancio, Moscato, Pinella, and Marzemina Bianca grapes.

Why is the estate called "Ferro" (Iron)? In local farming tradition, naming a field "Ferro" or "Ferroso" referred not only to the soil's mineral richness, but also to the difficulty of tilling it. These are heavy, stubborn soils that resist the plow as if they were made of metal. Today, this unique combination makes our wines savory and well-structured, perfectly enhancing our aromatic white grapes. The Podere Ferro in Faedo sits at an altitude of approximately 200 meters.
