Grillo DOP Sicilia

Grillo DOP Sicilia

We cultivate the indigenous Grillo grape on limestone soils in the Sicilian hinterland, plots of rare beauty mitigated in summer by the Mistral wind. The warmth of the sun, the saltiness of the sea and the excellent exposure give this wine fragrant citrus and mineral notes, which intersect with a marked savouriness and a dry sip. A wine of great finesse and persistence.

Pairings with our Grillo
Our Grillo is a persuasive, floral and mineral wine, delicious with sardine meatballs, arancine or important fish dishes. Serve at 8-10°C.

The history of Grillo
The history of Grillo in Sicily is inextricably intertwined with the economic fortunes of Marsala production. It suffered the same decline after World War II, but recovered in the 1990s. It is a ductile grape, giving rise to different scents depending on the climate, the soil, and the management in the vineyard. In our vineyards, close to the Gulf of Castellamare, it expresses itself with good acidity and minerality.
