Open cellars on Harvest Time
Sunday October 7th
From 10.30am to 7.30pm

2018 grape harvest is coming to conclusion. We are picking and putting on frame Fior d’Arancio grapes for Passito DOCG, waiting for the last few sunny days to give the Cabernet grapes an extra mile.

Years including the number “8” always give much satisfaction with red wines: warm, rich in color and structure, characterized by a marked varietal identity and a great long life. To our memory this is the fifth time this happens.

White wines outcomes are wider: basis are good, grapes are intact and musts composition is well balanced. Anyway, as usual, it is preferable to wait for the first decantation of young wines before an effective final opinion. When weather is particularly hot during the ripening period, our historic native wines often make their best.

Meanwhile we are setting this wine party Sunday up, with a sub-theme about Euganean Hills volcanicity.

On this occasion of Open Cellars on Harvest Time by Ca’ Lustra forecourt you will find:

ALL CA’ LUSTRA – ZANOVELLO WINES TASTINGS

From 10.30am to  pm we are offering all Ca’ Lustra – Zanovello wines, which will be freely available to tasting after the 8€ purchase of a wine chalice with its chalice-bag (1 item per person needed).

FOOD PROPOSAL

From 11am to 7pm Mr Leopoldo Tramarin is delighting us with a Veneto region cheese selection, especially from alps and from caves, and a selection of artisan cold-cuts.

Leopoldo has been a Master in cheese tasting for a long time. He is going to surprise us with brand new cheese proposals after he has taken part in “Caseus Veneti”, a competition taking place on September 29 and 30 at Piazzola sul Brenta (PD), as one of the main events about cheese in Veneto and not just inside it. Thanks to his latest findings he will make it possibile the tasting of new excellences and original combos.

Bread and focaccia by Vincenzo Miano are combining with cheese and cold-cuts. Vincenzo, native to Puglia, created Bio Forno Valsanzibio (an organic bakery in Valsanzibio). Previously former manager, he chose to dedicate his life to bakery using exclusively wholegrain and semi-wholegrain flour, sourdough and wood-fired oven.

Food proposal are going to be available separately directly at Leopoldo’s stand.

On this occasion a traditional surprise: “sugoli” (a kind of sweet pudding made with most).
